The University of Leeds (UofL) wish to consolidate the broad range of in-class polling solutions presently in use across their campus, with a view to reduce the current support burden and costs of delivering interactive learning in the classroom.
The UofL intends to procure and deploy a new primary mobile polling/voting tool or platform to enhance the learning experience of our students. It is anticipated that the tool/platform will be available for use by teaching staff in all Faculties and Schools. Delivery, testing and training with a selected pilot project group are expected to be complete by August 2018 ahead of the 2018-2019 academic session with full institutional roll out ahead of the start of the 2019-2020.
The tool will be used within the classroom, including large lectures of up to 500 students and small tutorial groups for voting, polling and quizzing. It is expected that students will access the tool via UofL Wi-Fi using their own mobile devices and/or laptops, in some instances teaching may take place in an IT cluster using networked personal computers. Teaching staff will either use a mobile device, laptop, or a networked PC which are currently installed within UofL teaching spaces.
