University of Leeds is using Delta eSourcing to run this tender exercise

Notice Summary
Title: GB-Leeds: Z/3395 Bespoke External Furniture at Edward Boyle Library
Notice type: Competitive Contract Notice
Authority: University of Leeds
Nature of contract: Not applicable
Procedure: Not applicable
Short Description: The tender is for the co-ordination, fabrication / supply and installation / assembly of bespoke furniture for a location outside the University of Leeds Edward Boyle Library on the University’s main campus. It is proposed that the main contractor co-ordinate preliminary on-site work necessary (e.g. setting support dowels for tables into the ground) and commissioning, delivery and installation of the bespoke benches and tables. Manufacturer of the benches and tables is to be contractor's choice, or they are welcome to undertake this in-house. However, to date the project has been discussed with Factory Furniture due to similarities with items of furniture that are in their standard range and existing furniture at The University. Should alternatives to working with Factory Furniture be proposed, proposals / working method to be included with tender return. Detail design of benches and tables - including but not limited to concrete mix, supports for slats, lifting eyes, dowel to secure table supports, means of drainage, levelling shims - to be agreed with manufacturer and approved by University of Leeds Architectural Technical Officer prior to manufacture. Drawings show a proposal to move a wayfinding point / sign presently on the site. This will be co-ordinated by the University if it goes ahead. If it doesn't, the spacing of the benches and orientation of bench B1 will be adjusted to suit (as shown in the feasibility document) Drawings show a proposal for bespoke planters outside the Edward Boyle Library windows. Details and means of procurement of these are TBC and therefore do not form part of this contract. Some details in the feasibility study have been superseded - where they contradict with other documents it is the other documents which should be referred to.
