      We welcome the fire safety sector’s move to third party accredited competence across the full range of delivery services, and as such the University requires the same approach to its fire risk assessments, fire door inspections and DSEAR reviews.
To achieve this, a suitably qualified fire safety advisor / risk assessor for York St John should comply with or show evidence towards the following criteria:

Essential

•Be an accredited scheme operated fire risk assessor (e.g. IFE/FIA) and / or affiliated to a recognised fire sector institution of at least technical or graduate status (e.g. IFSM, IFE)
•Have an effective CPD record for the past two years and be able to illustrate due diligence within the fire safety sector.

Desirable

•Be a third-party accredited UKAS fire risk assessor (e.g. FRACS/BAFE scheme)
•Be a third-party accredited fire door inspector (e.g. FDIS/NAFDI)
•Be listed on a recognised national fire risk assessor register (e.g. TFRAR/FRACS/BAFE)
