VII.2) Information about modifications
VII.2.1) Description of the modifications:
Extension of existing contract for a further 12 month period from 1st August 2020 to 31st July 2021, brought about by circumstances which a diligent contracting authority/entity could not foresee in accordance with Article 72 of Directive 2014/24/EU and Regulation 72(1) of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015.

Description of the circumstances which rendered the modification necessary and explanation of the unforeseen nature of these circumstances:
Under PCR Regulation 72(1) (c) - the need for modification has been brought about by the outbreak of COVID-19, meaning that the University nor its intended market place have the resources to retender the contract in time for the required 3-month handover period, and that service requirements would be unknown. The modification does not alter the overall nature of the contract, and the additional cost does not exceed 50% of the value of the original contract.
