II.1.4) Short description:
The School of Health & Social Care at Teesside University has a fully equipped Student Dental Facility (SDF) that offers a wide range of free dental treatments including oral hygiene, dietary advice, routine scale and polish and extensive periodontal treatments to a current population of approximately 3,000 patients. The SDF is Care Quality Commission (CQC) approved.The SDF provides a placement opportunity for students studying the Certificate in Dental Nursing and BSc (Hons) Dental Hygiene and Dental Therapy courses to achieve the skills and competencies needed to complete their studies. The students currently provide free dental treatments to Teesside University staff and students as well as the wider community in the Tees Valley area. The University is seeking to lease its Dental estate to an external organisation in relation to fully taking over management of the SDF.

II.2.4) Description of the procurement:
This would involve strategically managing the SDF including staffing capacity, policies and procedures and financial performance to enable the SDF to remain a safe, sustainable and secure environment. A significant part of the agreement would be to work in partnership with the University so that Dental students would still have full access to the SDF to gain practical experience within it.
The University would be committed to work in partnership with the Dental organisation to develop a portfolio of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) for delivery to the wider Dental community, as well as the development of new dental professional courses utilising the expertise of practice colleagues as well as academic staff.
